Founded in 2004 by producer Matthew Metcalfe, General Film & Communication produces world-class feature films, documentaries, and television. Inspired by the quiet ambition of the Apollo era, our focus has always been on the craft, the art, and delivering ambitious stories to global audiences.
Over the past two decades, our slate has grown to include acclaimed narrative features like 6 Days, Whina, and Ash, alongside major documentaries such as Never Look Away, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, and Capital in the Twenty-First Century. Based in Auckland and Sydney, we work in partnership with leading global studios and distributors.
